During a campfire ban, smoking is restricted in all public areas of a park or protected area. The mountain opened for skiing in 1938 under the ownership of the Swedish emigrant, Harald Enqvist, with a cafeteria and ski rental. This cabin has been rebuilt, and has been in operation since the beginning of the 2010/2011 season.

This area provides parking for about 7 vehicles to access the Baden Powell Trail.
