Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg: 10th Anniversary Edition (A Fairy Dust Trilogy Book) While probably not the sort of book an adult might seek out normally this is entirely bearable to read with or to younger family members or charges and is a good beginning chapter book.

There are some plot issues and such, but after all I enjoyed it! Barrie's Peter Pan builds on many familiar elements including the Neverland location, mermaids, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, fairies, fairy dust and never growing old. This book of hers showed up in my Little Free Library so I thought I'd see if I thought Mara would like it. by It also looks at the relationship between Mother Dove and the fairies as well as Vidia and the other fairies. There’s a melancholy in this that I’ve only seen in novels intended for older audiences who feel nostalgic for the juvenile properties on which theyI read this when I was maybe 10 years old and very deep into my fairy fixation.

It had been years since I had even seen it, so I had to re-read it.Obviously, this book is waaaayy past my reading level, but I loved it so, so dearly. I have a little sister! David Christiana's watercolor paintings throughout the book are gorgeous. May be very minimal identifying marks on the inside cover.

But tragedy strikes as the island is hit by a hurricane, and the Never egg is destroyed.

Mother Dove must pick three fairies to set out on a dangerous quest to repair the egg. The quest has an epic feel, although it is accomplished rather easily, but Rani makes a shocking sacrifice, and Tinker Bell has to grow up a bit while dealing with her feelings for Peter Pan. Smh.

I liked the book. I am not a fan of Tinker Bell I read this due to loyalty towards Gail Carson Levine and pure convenience. by

This was one of my favorite books when I was young and I was blown away when I saw it once again in a thrift store. Gail Carson Levine's Disney Fairies series takes place after the events of Disney's Peter Pan, allowing fans to get a detailed look on the lives of the fairies that share their home with the boy who will never grow up. It has dragons and pirates, for goodness sake!) It’s a very sweet grade school book, with absolutely beautiful illustrations. But the story did not move me. Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg is the first book written by Gail Carson Levine for the Disney Fairies franchise. When he decides to torment his fifth-grade English teacher, Mrs. Granger (who is just as smart as he is), by getting everyone in the class to replace the word "pen'' with "frindle,'' he unleashes a series of events that rapidly spins out of control. It has a beautiful story about friendship, sacrifice, and self-esteem, written at just the right level for young children.

Even Tinker Bell, a stereotypical one-note character in Disney's hands becomes an interesting, intelligent and attractive person in Levine's tale. Cute, well-written story with little twists and a heart-warming ending. Most fairies know as soon as they are born what their talent is, but Prilla doesn't have any idea. It was good it just wasn't what I was it expecting you see I'm a really big Disney fan and I'm a big Gail Carson Levine fan too so I was it expecting it to be amazing but it wasn't as good as her other books but it was still good I'm probably going to read the rest of the series and I also know this book was written for younger kids and I'm a teen but I love all her other children books so I thought I would like this one as much as the others. My 3 stars is based purely on my reread as an adult — though really kids books should not be held to the standards of adult literature. The fate of Never Land rests on their shoulders. She chooses Rani, the best water-talent fairy; Vidia, the most selfish, but fastest fast-flying-talent fairy; and, to everyone's surprise-Prilla. © Copyright 2020 Kirkus Media LLC.

The story is very detailed and I found myself explaining a lot of words and/or scenes due to the creative vocabulary. This explains a lot of Peter Pan - where fairies come from, how fairy dust is made, and why no one ages in Neverland. When a baby laughs for the first time, the laugh flies to Neverland and becomes a fairy... sometimes. At least that's what her mini-bio on the dust jacket of her new novel says. This scion of J.M.
