I currently have a laptop with a 1070 but a relatively weak i7-6700. I will say, though, that the 3rd build isn't going to run max settings in VR. This build is aimed towards three types of people as the middle build: 1) those who want to run iRacing at full settings on a single screen, 2) those who want to run triples, and 3) those who want to do VR.
Since I read the reviews and had the Phantom 410, I've loved their cases, and is the only company I'll buy a case from (talk about brand loyalty, eh? That said, at this point there are many options in this price bracket.
I'd like to point out that you can still have good thermals with a smaller case.
Just went standard ATX because it's what I know best hahaha. This game is very CPU dependent and is not very multithreaded. I am running a Fractal Design Define Nano S (ITX, although on the larger side for ITX) and with my water cooler my 6600k stays under 65C even with a 4.4GHz OC (stock speed is 3.5GHz) on CPU torture tests. Both the Define Nano S and Core series cases from Fractal Design are good options for smaller cases. That build was more oriented towards the "I'd like to stay on the cheaper side of building a rig" thing haha.It is the old line of Ryzen, so probably could upgrade to current gen stuff for not too much more. The site may not work properly if you don't If you do not update your browser, we suggest you visit Press J to jump to the feed. might be delayed because gtx 1080's are on backorder.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castLooks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser.
and it's been very high and very low. Users have full control over the way that their vehicles look on track via a few of options. The cases I chose have notoriously good reviews, for one reason or another. That money could be used it towards higher speed ram. Just want to make my biases clear.SSD is the way to go, for all intents and purposes.Like I said up top, iRacing is best optimized with single-core speeds. Don't pay full price for ANYTHING unless you absolutely have to. Triples will be fine, but VR will need to be turned down on a lot of tracks. I've been doing F3 all season long. So I personally would suggest water cooling if you're doing any of the above things I mentioned, as you'll definitely want to keep that CPU as cool as possible.
At least, that was the case on the lower end, cheaper motherboards.I didn't know Ryzen came with a cooler - so used to just buying an extra cooler, so good knowledge!Only reason the PSU is overpowered is because I think for the price, you might as well just give yourself the headroom from the start.
)I am totally an Nvidia fanboy. Thanks!Good list.
Thanks for the knowledge! Are these builds still relevant or should I upgrade the CPU to the new 8th gen Intel chips?New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castPress J to jump to the feed. if not you will be wasting your money because you will not be using your account.I feel that while signing up just for the forums is probably not a good use of your money, people are forgetting to add that the iRacing forums are actually fantastic. Only $650, but if you search for deals like I said above, you can get it for about $600. It relies on high clock speed. I love their GTX10X0 series cards, and much prefer them to AMD's Radeon R series cards. r/iRacing: iRacing Reddit Community. still can't wait Hearing my p.c. And it only costs about 160 Euros.I’m thinking of doing a new build pretty much built for iracing with VR.
I am thinking of doing a PC build with a 1080ti, but am wondering what would be the best cpu currently in the market to our with it given it’s single threaded operation?
Should give you a head start over those who just jump straight in.Thanks again everyone Mike P.s.
Hell, you might even find a GTX1060 3GB for $170~. In my short time here, I've seen a few posts from people about computer components running iRacing.
At the end of the day, though, case is your preference. The 200R provides enough case for buck. I would replace all your AMD Ryzen suggestions with 7th-8th gen Intel i5-i7 CPUs as they will have higher per core clock speedEdit: I take it back. Developed as a centralized racing and competition service, iRacing organizes, hosts and officiates online racing on virtual tracks all around the world.
