If anything, since JoJo swings both on the strategic combat way to the bullshit combat way, it makes sense that people are engaged into analyzing stuff like this. I like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, I've read all the way to Part 8 and I'm doing my best Kars impersonation as I wait for it to update, so please don't take this as a hate post. Come here to talk about fictional characters, events, concepts, objects, etc. Overall I like Risotto's overall design, character, and abilities, I like Epitaph(even though it's just a shittier Thoth, don't @ me). I had a good time reading and watching it, at the same time I scratched my head a lot. Risotto figures out that Doppio must be a Stand user … Like, when he creates a bunch of needles in Doppio's face, why just stick them in his cheek? NO Long answer Its far more complicated than that, you see the boss wasn't present for almost the whole fight the only person present was our charming Doppio. Newgrounds accounts are free and registered users see fewer ads! And it turns out this was a decent plan because it led to him discovering the thing he was there for, the Boss' identity. Risotto has no real need to immediately go to his strongest attack. As a quick sidenote, it didn't make any sense to me that The Boss wouldn't just go into that fight by immediately transforming back into his true form. Risotto with the ability of his Stand, Metallica, has control over magnetism to the point where he can manipulate the very iron in a person's blood to create objects(which definitely shouldn't be possible), but we get a bizarre mixture of him using this ability really well and really poorly. Doppio also denied the Boss repeatedly. However, the fight itself made very little sense based on what we knew about how Metallica worked. This comment was made by Oingo Boingo brothers. JoJo fights.frequently feature interesting shit happening but only ever in such a controlled way that good guys inexplicably survive until they figure out a counter. The combined risk of Risotto and the Gangstars, along with the Boss being crazy, lead to Doppio being used a lot. Why not create a pair of scissors in his heart or brain? This isn't a goofy villain of the week that Stardust Crusaders had so many of, in-universe Risotto is supposed to be extremely intelligent and chosen to be a capo based on his abilities in combat/assassination and leadership skills. Cookies help us deliver our Services. Why not fill his eyes with needles? By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. On the one hand, he does put a bunch of razors and a pair of scissors in Doppio's neck and needles in his face. Why not slit his wrists open? I had a clear understanding of what either combatant could do. Even when he gets his foot cut off he uses it to his advantage and then just staples it back on like its His physiology is not normal, even by the standards of Jojo humans. It felt like Araki knew Risotto would win in a whole two seconds, so he added the part where Risotto is super interested in Doppio and who he actually is. He knows Doppio's range and he's in control the entire fight. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the CharacterRant community. Of course, this particular fight leans a lot on the bullshit stuff, but it is what it is. He has the ability to change his face, and interpretable future version. Doppio is tougher because his muscles are compressed lol. Eh, this is applicable for almost all action fiction. He may be calm normally but this is a situation hes very emotionally invested in, and it shows at the end where he starts getting giddy and starts shouting at the thought of killing The Boss. When he deduced Doppio's identity, he had plenty of time to swiftly kill Doppio, but somehow lost. But dont worry, there are also lots who can take criticisms for their favorite show. Risotto wanted to know what Doppio's deal was and so held back until he put the pieces together. Risotto's early attacks probably aren't meant to be fatal, but I agree that he could've done better ways to incapacitate Doppio. I mean, in the fight, Doppio and Diavolo both comment on how Risotto was attacking to sheer away their stamina on purpose. Blinding Doppio and ruining his limbs would have not only incapacitated him without killing him, it would have left Risotto able to interrogate and/or inspect him for as long as he wanted. It‘s just plot armor. Anyway, those were my problems with the fight itself. Even back when I read the manga, that scene always left me scratching my head in confusion. Risotto really didn't get nearly as much mileage out of Metallica as he should have. So why not turn him helpless first? I wonder how much control Risotto actually has over the stand, because if he had perfect control then why would he even bother killing the frog? Now before I get crucified, let me say this, the fight itself was well animated. The transformation of Doppio isn't instantaneous, it takes a few seconds.
