It was clear Breeden wanted to brawl, but Romero’s speed and footwork made that difficult. Alves was perhaps too patient, but he did dazzle with a switch kick – it was just too infrequent. As Romero continued attacking the left leg, Breeden struggled to stay upright. His wrestling is fine, his submission defense is very good, but his cardio suffers and his striking accuracy and output are a problem. Contender Series was postponed this year, as pretty much everything else in the world of sports has been.
